Our hooks were brushed to achieve a scratch resistant surface then coated with clear varnish however over the years the brass metal will start to show discoloration depending on usage and environmental influences. Being such a lovely and long-lasting metal, this is a natural process for brass. The brushed finish is also remarkably better in terms of smudge resistance compared with glossy surface. This is to ensure functional and esthetical objectives are met. Smudge and dust can be easily cleaned by soft, dry cloth.
